33-y-o Security Guard Killed in St Mary Accident

A St Mary security guard was killed and several other persons, including school children, injured in a collision along the Boscobel main road in the vicinity of the Ian Fleming International Airport on Monday morning, April 24.

The deceased is 33-year-old Patrick Wallace, of Warner Street, Port Maria, St Mary.

Oracabessa Police report that about 7:10 am, Wallace was driving his motorcar along the Boscobel main road heading towards Ocho Rios when he allegedly collided with a Toyota Fielder motor car travelling in the opposite direction. He sustained multiple injuries and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Alleged eyewitnesses claim that Wallace was racing his vehicle against a Honda motorcar along the Boscobel main road. The Toyota Fielder motorcar driven by Wallace allegedly overtook the Honda motorcar and collided into the other Toyota Fielder motorcar, which was being used as a taxi.

Police said they are probing those allegations.

Wallace had to be cut from the vehicle by personnel from the fire department.

Six other persons were rushed to the hospital, where one remains in critical condition.
