45-y-o Mechanic Shot and Killed by Gunman in Westmoreland

A Westmoreland auto mechanic was shot and killed at his home by unknown assailants on Thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as 45 -year- old Mark Wallace of Dunbar’s River.


Reports are that the police were summoned by residents who heard gunshots coming from the direction of Walker’s home about 6:30 pm.

Upon their arrival, the cops found Wallace lying in a pool of blood with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Wallace became the second mechanic to be gunned down in the parish on Thursday. In an earlier incident, 58-year-old mechanic Edward Walker of Three Miles River was shot and killed by men who alighted from a motorcar at his garage.

The Westmoreland police are investigating both murders.
