Jamaican male teacher could face charges for beating a female student With PVC Pipe

The Ministry of Education is probing an accusation by a parent that a male teacher beat her 13-year-old daughter with a piece of PVC pipe at a Primary and Junior High School in St Andrew on Monday.

A mother went berserk on Monday after discovering marks on the child’s body and went to the Melrose Primary and Junior High School to confront the authorities who she accused of not protecting her child.

School authorities have confirmed the incident, but say the child is unruly, is always involved in fights and is known to bully and ill-treat other students almost on a daily basis.

If the teacher is found culpable he could face criminal charges.
