Jamaican Woman in Trinidad Child Abuse Video To Be Deported

A Jamaican woman who was caught on video in the act of assaulting a two year old girl in Trinidad has been ordered deported.

The woman, Yanick Taylor-Gobin, was remanded in custody and ordered deported after she and her husband, Dexter Gobin, appeared in the Tunapuna Magistrate Court on Monday charged with two counts of assault.

A video posted by online showed the man slapping the child and throwing her to the ground before dragging her up by her hair in an effort to get the child to drink a milk substance that was being fed to her.

Gobin was granted bail in the sum of TT$150,000 but was unable to take up bail because he owned no property and his family was unable to find a bailor.

They are charged with assaulting a child to cause her suffering and injury to her physical health.

They were arrested at a house in Vistabella in South Trinidad, last Thursday.
