Motorcyclist Killed by a Police Service Vehicle in Kingston

Motorcyclist killed in collision with police vehicle on Rousseau Road

A motorcyclist died in a collision Sunday morning at the intersection of Rousseau Road and Texton Road in Kingston.

The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Jermaine Ball, a labourer of 4B Myrrhvilla Road, Kingston 5.

Reports are that about 1:30 am, a white Toyota Hilux police service vehicle was travelling along Rousseau Road towards Cross Road.

The driver of the Toyota Hilux reportedly indicated to make a right turn onto Texton Road, when a motorcycle being driven by Ball attempted to overtake the police service vehicle.

This reportedly resulted in the bike colliding into the right side of the service vehicle and Ball – who was not wearing a helmet -falling to the ground and sustaining head injuries.

Ball was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

The Denham Town Traffic Department is investigating.
