Seven Firefighters Crash and injured along Fern Gully

Seven firefighters assigned to the Ocho Rios fire station were injured early Tuesday morning when the unit they were travelling in overturned on the Fern Gully main road near Ocho Rios.


Emellio Ebanks, Acting Assistant Commissioner in charge of Area Two, has confirmed that minutes after 4 a.m. the team was returning from a fire in Moneague when the accident happened.

It is not clear what caused the mishap.

Mr. Ebanks said that the men were rushed to the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital where six of them were treated and released.

One remains in hospital for observation.
