The Ocho Rios police are currently probing the gruesome stabbing and chopping deaths of two men which took place in separate sections of the resort town in less than 24 hours.
One of the deceased men has been identified as 50-year-old Kirk Jones of Pineapple Place in Ocho Rios.
The other man, who is said to be in his fifties, has not been identified.
The first killing that resulted in the death of Jones occurred on Saturday, September 23.
Police reported that at about that about 12:36 p.m., Jones and another man were involved in a dispute when the man used a knife and stabbed Jones several times.
The police were summoned and Jones was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Jones’ killer is said to have escaped according to a resident from the area.
Hours later, at about 5 a.m., the body of an unidentified man was found near the Ocho Rios clock tower with chop wounds to the back of his head and to his arm.
Residents, who found the body, alerted the police and the man was taken to the hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
The police say they are continuing to investigate both incidents.
